The Year of the Snake
Drop It Like It’s Hot (Seriously.)
I climbed out of bed this morning still thinking about yesterday’s yoga class.
Yoga has been a constant in my life for decades now. I took my first class when I was pregnant with my daughter, Elise. She’s almost 21, so I can legitimately claim that timeline.
Saturday mornings with Debi are much like the soul-searching wisdom of Tuesdays with Morrie. She is consistently exceptional in her teaching and deeply thoughtful in her messaging. My body craves her class, and my mind evolves with her delivery, so it’s no wonder I woke up thinking about it today.
Before I carry on, I’m realizing something about my writing. It isn’t going to unfold as a neat timeline of my life. It’s more like the rapid firing of my brain, which lately feels fully loaded. So if you catch yourself thinking, “Wow, she leapfrogged that topic,” I promise I’ll circle back.
My mind, much like grief, isn’t linear. And yes, I have plenty to unpack about my healing journey in the EDITS to come. But for now, my thoughts keep circling back to the Year of the Snake.
In Chinese astrology, 2025 is the Year of the Snake. It’s a year associated with shedding, renewal, and quiet transformation. As we move through it, a powerful question emerges:
What are you shedding?
What are you ready to give up?
